Clean Coal Technologies Receives Positive Patent Response
US Patent Office Provides Encouraging Response to Patent Amendment Filed March 16, 2010
CORAL SPRINGS, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/23/10 -- Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: CCTC) today commented on the significance of the recent communication issued by the US Patent & Trademark Office in our application Publication No. US 2006-0123698 A1, Serial No. 11/344,179, entitled "Treatment of Coal."
The Action brings good news in that the U.S. Patent Examiner has agreed to allow all of the pending claims directed to the process of treating coal to increase its rank. It is therefore expected that a US patent will issue on those process claims in due course. The case also contains other claims for which further consideration is required before they can issue in a patent. The US Patent Examiner's position with respect to those other claims is presently under review by the company's Patent Counsel. The only claims rejected were those pertaining to a substantive change in physical properties of coal, which was anticipated. This current action by the US Patent & Trademark Office does not affect the company's earlier issued US patent 6,447,559.
President & CEO Doug Hague commented that: "The continuing process of patent filings is consistent with the Company's commitment to the protection of its intellectual property, which applies to potential infringements in both the US, and overseas. The Company will continue to file additional patents and amendments in concert with the ongoing development and enrichment of its technology."
Matters discussed in this press release contain forward-looking statements. Investors are cautioned that such forward-looking statements involve risk and uncertainties, which could significantly impact the actual results, performance or achievements of the Company. Such risks and uncertainties include, but are not limited to, the time frame for production of revenue, product development and commercial introduction, the impact of rapid price and technological change and competition, manufacturing and supply uncertainties and other risks.
